About BibTeX Tools

This is a web version of bibtex-tools, a collection of tools for cleaning up BibTeX files for biblatex, developed by Karl-Ludwig Besser (klb2). All the cleaning is done by his Python code, which runs right in your browser.

Like the original, this web version is free software under the GNU General Public License v3. It runs Python in your browser with Pyodide (MPL-2.0), which includes the Python standard library (PSF License), and uses bibtexparser (LGPL-3.0 or BSD), pyiso4 (MIT), pyparsing (MIT), Unidecode (GPL-2.0 or later), click (BSD-3-Clause), and feedparser (BSD-2-Clause) with feedparser-sgmllib (PSF-2.0).

The title uses the font Parisienne by Astigmatic under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Look up arXiv categories online?

This setting uses the internet. To add the primary category of your preprints, e.g., cs.IT, BibTeX Tools asks the public API of arXiv at export.arxiv.org.

Only the arXiv IDs of your entries, e.g., 2009.09852, are sent. Like any website, arXiv also sees your IP address. Your files and everything else stay in your browser.

Conference abbreviations

Some conference papers have an abbreviation of their conference, e.g., (NeurIPS), and some do not. Click a key to show its entry.

      Reset all settings?

All settings go back to their defaults. Your files stay open.
